Rupali Patil Strandbad Residency 2023

Rupali Patil's artistic practice includes printmaking, drawing and installation. Her topics mainly focus on water crises and their social and environmental impact. It also shows affected farmers from industrialized areas. Workers, who became visual metaphors in her drawings, inhabit an imaginary, unspecified geographical world of Patil. Rupali Patil's work has been presented at biennials such as 3rd Industrial Art Biennial 2020 in Croatia, Ride into the sun, Habit cohabit (Pune Biennial 2017) and Saltwater theory of thought-form (14th Istanbul Biennial 2015). She lives and works in Pune, India.

Strandbad-Residency 2023 is created in cooperation with SomoS Arts.

Strandbad-Residency is as a part of the two-year collaborative project ARTISTIC ECOLOGIES: NEW COMPASSES, TOOLS AND ALLIANCES designed in collaboration with WHW (Zagreb), Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten (Amsterdam), and New Neighborhood/Moabit with Moabit Mountain College ( Berlin).
